In this day one is forced to own one of these devices.Imagine it, my husband took off with some floozy he met online, and now, I too am no longer lonely.I am speaking on a nightly basis with an exotic foreign-sounding man called a “technical support person”, attempting to make this stupid thing work. Resentful? yes.

No refund, returned almost immediately because the PC had limited capability, no HDMI, cursor would continually jump to where ever it wanted. It was defective and now they will not refund our money. We have bought a HP at Walmart that works.

There is still no refund a few weeks later, nor any communication from Amazon or the seller. 5/26/10 is almost a month after it was returned and confirmed by UPS.

“”We purchased a Toshiba laptop for our daughter a year and a half ago! After 6 months the hard drive crashed and after MANY calls, all of which I had to initiate they never called back when they said they would, they finally replaced the hard drive. They made NO EFFORT to save any of the data on the broken hard drive. Guess what? After 11 months the hard drive crashed AGAIN! I was told that the computer what out of warranty, the replaced hard drive only had a 30 day warranty. They offered to replace the hard drive for $300 … are they NUTS. They have already provide me with 2 BAD hard drives and now they want me to pay for a third. Also, please note that again NO ONE EVER returned my calls. When they said they would call back within 72 hours I waited an entire week. No Call, I called them back. I was also told that because my original warranty was expired over 6 months ago there was nothing they could do. When I pointed out the fact that it was only 6 days past 6 months and that when I made the call, that no one returned, it was under 6 months. Then they said, well even if had been under 6 months their still wasn’t anything that they could do. So I concluded that the “6 month line” was some standard line and when I called them on it they just back peddled. The computer may work just fine at first, but what really counts is what the company does when things don’t go perfectly and I can tell you that Toshiba WILL NOT be there for you. Avoid this company. I have computers from HP, DELL and Gateway and I can tell you first hand that you will be treated better by any other company. Stay away from Toshiba.”"

THE FOLLOWING REVIEW IS FOR THE INTEL MODEL NOT THE AMD MODEL OF THIS COMPUTER:

UPDATE MARCH 25: TOSHIBA HAS OFFERED AN UPDATE WHICH WILL ALLOW VIRTUAL PC TO RUN ON THIS COMPUTER. IT’S TOO LATE FOR ME AS I GAVE THIS COMPUTER TO MY DAUGHTER AND PURCHASED A USED LENOVO COMPUTER LAPTOP FROM AMAZON.

We bought this laptop so I could run my beloved Mastercook program to help me do grocery shopping. I also use this computer to run my Wild Ginger sewing pattern software.

I do like how easy it is to find files and other programs using Windows 7. As much as I loved Windows XP, the search function and ease of locating files, is so much better on Windows 7.

The mouse pad on this computer is a bit fast. I did manage to configure it to the slowest speed possible but it’s still mighty fast.

The computer is light in weight, uses the battery efficiently, the display is easy to read, and the computer seems to run cooler than my old HP laptop.

    Recommend.

I bought a Toshiba laptop and to my surprise the touchpad did not work properly from day one. After hours on the phone explaining the problem and doing a thousand procedures I had to ship it to Toshiba. The problem is that they lost my computer and they don’t do anything to solve the problem. I have called them more than 30 times already and they have been unwilling to help me. I will never buy a Toshiba again and I suggest you do the same.
