I bought this charger April 7 its may 24 its dead, its a really weak charger doesn’t come close to the original apple charger, Save your money guys and just save up, you’ll save money in the long run. oh and a side note you cant connect your long cord to this one.

While my old charger’s adapter doesn’t fit, I assume that’s because when I bought the original cord, Apple had already re-invented themselves. Nothing a extension chord can’t fix. The apple logo isn’t on this, so that’s the only reason I believe that it’s not a legitimate Apple product, but it charges fine, and I can’t complain. It’s magnetic, the light turns orange when charging and green when fully charged (only odd thing is there is a bit of delay when I pull the chord out of the computer, the light on the end doesn’t shut off… but when I say delay, I mean only 5-8 seconds). I haven’t had any problems with heat, electrocution, wires fraying or anything like that. And I’m quite picky with my products, so while there was some concern I couldn’t pass up the price. Like I said, there’s been no problems, and I’m very happy with this charger. You guys saves me 40 dollars! Thank you.

I thought all power adapters were born the same, but I was wrong. I guess I’m buying Apple brand now after throwing away $20+ on this one. The cons:

    - A month later it starts humming

    - it starts heating like crazy. I’m concerned that is starts a fire if I leave it plugged.

Save yourself a headache and money and buy a (used if new is too expensive) Apple adapter.
