I purchased this for my Stepdaughter since I am a great step dad (actually she started using my computer and I did not want to fight her over it).
I saw some reviews about it getting hot and have found no such problem yet – over a month now.
Also the supplied AC cord is a bit short, but switching with the one from the original worked fine.

The item I purchased is actually an ok item. Everything I buy off of here is usually good quality. Even tho it looks ok for it to work and charge my laptop I have the cord turned a certain way. It is what I like to call a “ghetto charger” which means there is probably a shortage in the cord. Although I couldve sent it back I did not because it does still work and I got it for a cheap price. It beats sharing a charger with my sister.

I bought this item listed as “NEW AC Adapter Power Supply Charger+Cord for Toshiba Satellite 1955-S801 1110-S153 A135-S4656 A135-S7404 a135-s2246 a135-s2276 a135-s7403 a205-s5804″ from seller “Optimum Solution.” It worked great for a couple of weeks, and then started heating up way too much to handle. I’m basically forced to charge my computer for a while, then unplug it as fast as it’s charged, so it’s not a fire risk. Forget about running the computer off the cord — it’s so hot even the cat doesn’t want to lie on it.
When I emailed the seller, they offered an RMA number, and said for me to ship it back (at *my* expense), and they’d offer a replacement *after* they tested it to see if it was indeed defective. For a ten-buck power adapter. What seemed like a great deal has become a headache. I guess you really do get what you pay for. I’ll look around for a better one, and a better seller.

when I first received the charger it was ok. The next day when I plugged the charger to the laptop, I realized that the metal input portion that goes into the laptop was very loose. I am now in need of another charger for my laptop. This is the first bad experience for me.

This power cord is roughly 1/2 the size of every other power cord i have used. I would estimate it is about 6-7 feet long. Far too short for my needs. Other than that, the cord seems fine.
