I got this hard drive a couple weeks ago and it has served me well so far. I have no complaints and it is more than enough memory for me to store my pictures, musics, documents and whatever else I may need. Its very light and small so it doesn’t take up a lot of room. The price was good to for what I got. I have a mac and it works well with it.

Big capacity, light weight, small and portable. Authorization is not necessary, so you can start using it as you open the box and transfer files from any computer to any computer w/o a problem. This is a Mac-friendly product, so all Mac-users (myself included) do not have to go through troubles that we often encounter when we try using products primarily meant for PC on Mac. Also the Time Machine function (for Mac) is useful as well. It basically function as a thumb-drive but little bigger and you need USB 2 cable. This is a good buy!

Light and superslim yet tough. Tagging along a 500 gb capsule is safer with drop protect.

Initially I thought the claim of fallguard may not be a reality but I experienced it. Only when it slipped off my hands when multitasking a sip of a drink and setting up my desktop to accommodate a few things. I thought it was dead and whatever has been stored are all damaged. To my surprise the drive not only worked, it had all data intact. I hope it doesn’t suffer another fall!

For one, I get to carry it wherever I go. This way I am sure my critical data is with me and will not be tampered. I am a frequent buyer of portable drives because of the nature of my job. And Iomega has never disappointed me till date! This time I got to purchase the Iomega eGo 500 GB USB 2 portable hard drive 34945. My office mate has this drive and I was really impressed by its design, the color and its ultrathin mold. Immediately checked different web sites to know the dimension of this device and it was just 2.1 x 7 x 5.1 inches! A true portable hard drive indeed and also installs quick. The silver color of this hard drive matches perfectly with my MacBook Air notebook. The compactness allows me to carry it anywhere but with the risk of dropping it. With the Drop guard, it is safe if the fall is a short one less than 5 ft. For Mac users, there is Trend Micro and I am worry free for atleast a year. The software is not a part of the package but has to be downloaded. I use the QuickProtect as I do not wanna miss any opportunity for safe backups.
